Lyric’s annual family opera performance is back with a Chicago premiere that promises to capture your imagination! Created specifically for young children and families, The Scorpion’s Sting tells the tale of a group of archaeology students who uncover the Lost Temple of Isis and discover a mythic story that unfolds from ancient hieroglyphics.

This is the perfect show for budding opera and music enthusiasts—through the story of Isis, the students learn the importance of knowledge and the power of forgiveness. The play recreates a world full of wonder and mystery, and explores the legendary tales of Egyptian gods and goddesses. Created by acclaimed Canadian composer and librettist Dean Burry and directed by Elise Sandell, The Scorpions’ Sting is an inspirational and fascinating story that you won’t want to miss!
